First letter

Allison,

My darling little miracle. I constantly watch you during the day and wish I could somehow tell you all the things that come to my mind. I tell myself, "you need to remember this forever..." and while I do hope I remember it forever - I am going to make sure that all these memories and little things I want you to know find their way to you later in life.

Tonight, you are 9 weeks and 1 day old. We are sitting in the nursery like we do almost every night - just me and you. I'm rocking you trying to get you to fall off to sleep and I just watch you in amazement. 9 weeks later and I am still in awe that we made you. You're more perfect than I ever could have imagined! You're sick right now - allergies, we think. And even though you're stuffed up and cranky - you still manage to be a happy baby. Bless you for that. My heart appreciates it. You cry so often and have reflux and gas so badly, so I am appreciative that you can find time out of the day to be happy between crying ...and let me tell you, you cry a lot.

You're just so perfectly content curled up in my arms; all day today you have wanted nothing but your momma and to cuddle. Which is perfect for me, because I want nothing more than for you to want your momma.

I work so much and don't get much time to just be with you, I'm often so afraid that you'll forget me a bit and always favor your daddy because I can't be around as much as he is. So days like today, I am cherishing with all my being. Soon enough, I have to bring you to your bed and tomorrow will start a new week and another 5 days of me missing your sweet face so very much.

You've been asleep for a while now, and my arm is asleep -- I sadly believe I have to accept that this is just the end of the night. There will be more letters. I hope to share so much of your early life with you - including how you came to be and how much we prayed for you.

I love you, Allison Hope. Good-night my angel.

-Mom
